About Hyprocrates (Munafiqeen) in Islam According to Quran and Hadith

Definition:A hypocrite in Islam is one who saw Islam; accepted its principles; embraced it; went along with it, but when his life style and preferences were challenged, Islam had failed with him.  He knowingly wouldn't follow Islam because it would violate a certain life style that he adopted, ego, or standard that is too important to him, even though it directly violates Islam.

Difference between a hypocrite and a normal Muslim:The difference between a hypocrite and a normal Muslim who sins, is that a hypocrite adopts an unacceptable life style and actions, and insists on following it, while a normal Muslim knows that he is wrong, tries to resist doing sins, but unfortunately sometimes, he still falls into sinning due to immaturity or physical weaknesses.

Meaning of  hypocrite(Munafik):In a nut shell, this is what a hypocrite is in Islam.  A hypocrite is a "Muslim".  He is not an apostate (murtadd), nor is he a polytheist or idol worshiper (mushrik), nor is he an atheist (mulhid).  A hypocrite does declare Islam as his religion, and in some cases even prays to GOD Almighty and fasts the month of Ramadan.  Not everyone who Prays to Allah Almighty, however, is a good Muslim.   Allah Almighty said in the Holy Quran:

"The Hypocrites - they think they are over-reaching God, but He will over-reach them: When they stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold God in remembrance;   (4:142)"

An other place in Quran:

"When they are told, ‘Believe in the way that thepeople believe,’ they say, ‘What! Are we to be-lieve in the way that fools believe?’ No indeed!They are the fools, but they do not know it." (2:13)

Those who are neglectful of their Prayers that are considered as hypocrites are ones who pray to only gain recognition by men, and refuse to do good.  They do not connect spiritually with Allah Almighty when they pray 5 times every day, because the sole purpose of Praying in Islam is to Worship Allah Almighty alone throughout the day, and to constantly stay focused and purified from sins.

Hypocrites are obviously not purified nor cleansed from sins, even if they pray.   That is why Allah Almighty cursed them, because they are spiritually "neglectful" of their Prayers.

Hadith:

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The thing I fear most for my Ummah is the eloquent hypocrite.” [Ahmad]

Narrated Abu Huraira: 

Allah's Messengers said: "The worst of all mankind is the double-faced one, who comes to some people with one countenance and to others, with another countenance." [Sahih Bukhari]

How many time Hypocrates(Munafiqeen) mentioned in Holy Quran:

Approximately 172 times in the Holy Quran mentioned about Hyprocrates or Munafiqeen

some verses of translation are mentioned there:

Among the people there are some who say, ‘We believe in Allah and the Last Day,’ when they are not believers. (2:8)

When they are told, ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth,’ they say, ‘We are only putting things right.’ (2:11)

When he is told to have fear of Allah, he is seizedby pride which drives him to wrongdoing. Hellwill be enough for him! What an evil resting-place! (2:206)

Among the people there is someone whose words about the life of this world excite your ad-miration, and he calls Allah to witness what is inhis heart, while he is in fact the most hostile of adversaries.(2:204)

Allah knows what is in such people’s hearts so turn away from them and warn them and speak to them with words that take effect.(4:63)

We sent no Messenger except to be obeyed by Allah’s permission. If only when they wronged themselves they had come to you and askedAllah’s forgiveness and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them they would have found Allah Ever-Returning, Most Merciful. (4:64)

Among you there are people who hang back andif you encounter a setback then they say, ‘Allahhas blessed me in that I was not there with them.’(4:72)

In the End  Most important Hadith:

 Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: 

The Prophet said, "Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up. 
1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays. 
2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 
3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous. 
4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner." 
[Sahih Bukhari]

In the last my personal veiws today's muslim hypocrites:

I am very sorry to say that we are muslims but we left muslim rules,culture , the rule of islam. Mostly muslims are hypocrite, they adopt western culture and customs. They demands too much in marriages, unnecessary formalities and they love to show off. The clothes are in complete, irrespectable behaviour. Evil life style muslims adopted also in Arabs we see everyday on  Arabic channels, TV shows the Arabs are becoming more and more Westernized in the negative way.  They are too materialistic, and social morality is endangered.  It is common these days to see Boy and girl friendships, illegal sex  and so on.The muslim represent Islam but islam is not this type.It is very difficult to find moderate Muslims today.They declare that they are "Muslims" with their mouths, but they have deserted Islam with their culture and ridiculous life style, and liberal beliefs.The muslims are more and more materialistic they didnt like realities.unfortunately today, if a Muslim doesn't have the "extremists" beliefs, then most likely in the West, he/she would be a hypocrite one; one who adopted the evil life style and liberal beliefs.Allah show us right path and make pure muslims .(ameen) He , Who can escape us evil way and evil methods.
